How do I use the SortMagic App?

The Proofpix SortMagic app allows you to automate the tedious process of culling images into their proper galleries.

The app works in conjunction with your Proofpix events so you need to have them created in advance.

If your images remain in the temporary SortMagicGallery_XXXX gallery and you do not see any progress, then one of the following problems likely occurred: **1. 1. Set your time zone

Make sure your proper time zone is set in the Proofpix admin in Settings > General > Your time zone

2. Install the app

The first thing you need to do is install the app on your Apple iOS or Android mobile device. This is a Progressive Web App (PWA) so there is no need to download anything from an app store. Simply navigate to https://sortmagic.proofpix.com from your phone's web browser (Safari on Apple iOS, Chrome on Android).

If you're on Android, the browser should offer you an option to Add SortMagic to Home screen, click it. If you're on Apple iOS, then click the Share button and then click the Add to Home Screen button.

3. Log-in

Once you enter the app, you will be prompted to login. Please enter the same credentials you use to sign-in to Proofpix.

4. Add camera(s)

Next you need to add the camera(s) you will be using. You may give them any name you like, however it is good to be specific, i.e. Bria

Everything you need to know about downloads

Proofpix handles all the downloads for you. When customers download more than one file, we combine them in a single Zip file for downloading.

We offer two types of downloads:

Free
Paid

Free downloads

If you would like all your clients to download images for free while browsing, you may do so by using the Downloads slider within the Event settings > Event level sharing section. Here you may choose the number of Free downloads/user and the resolution.

You can do the same for a particular Known customer. When editing the Known customer, uncheck the Use event's sharing settings and then choose the appropriate download options.

||| If you have watermarked your images, then the downloads here will be watermarked, unless you select the "Orig" size option which means we will deliver the uploaded original.

Paid downloads

Paid downloads are managed from the Downloads tab when creating or editing an pricelist. You can choose the download sizes (resolutions) and the price for each.

We have named the downloads in the pricelist based on their intended usage, much like a stock photo site may sell them, personal print usage, personal online usage, etc. You are welcome to change the names if this does not suit you.

We offer 6 kinds of discounts that you may offer your clients:

Coupons
Order discounts
Product discounts
Known Customer discounts
Product category bulk discounts
Product bulk discounts

Coupons

Coupons allow you to give clients a specific code that they can enter in during their checkout will entitle them to a discount. Coupons allow you to:

Specify a code
Specify the amount of the discount in either a finite amount or a percentage
Specify the number of redemptions (i.e. first 20 people to use the coupon)
Restrict a coupon to a certain event
Restrict a coupon to certain user
Specify a minimum amount to spend before the coupon is active
Specify an expiration date

You configure your coupons in Selling > Coupons.

Order discounts

Order discounts are calculated during checkout and apply to all orders for an event. Order discounts allow you to discount an order based on their sub-total:

Specify the amount of the discount in either a finite amount or a percentage
Specify a minimum amount to spend before the discount is active
Specify an expiration date

You configure your order discounts in Event settings > Discounts & rewards.

Product discounts

Product discounts are calculated during checkout and apply to all orders for an event. Product discounts allow you to reward customers with discounted or free products based on their sub-total, You can:

Specify the amount of the discount in either a finite amount or a percentage

Importing your customer data from a CSV file

Proofpix allows you to import your customers in bulk from a CSV file. You can do this in two places:

Settings > customers (this will import customers to be used at a later time)
Mange event > event data > import csv (this will create customers and link them to the event as Known customers)

This latter option is especially useful when given a list of students and their parent info for a school event as it allows you to import the customers while creating the galleries for the students using the GalleryMagic feature.

Importing your customers from a CSV file is easy but we need to know a few details about your CSV file to make the import successful.

Does your file have a header row?

Some CSV files include the Column titles, such as Name, Email, Address, etc and some do not. Simply select the option that applies.

Are the values in your CSV file wrapped in quotation marks?

Some CSV files wrap all the values in quotation marks, others wrap only values that include a space between words and others do not at all (like the image above). If either of the two following examples look like your data, then you would select "Yes".

Everything you need to know about PSPA yearbook downloads

PSPA is an American organization that has set a format that is used by school yearbook editors and departments. The basic concept is to provide them with a unified process year after year even if the photographer is different.

The file sizes, folder structure and data files provided in the download all follow this format and cannot be altered.

The image that is selected for each student's yearbook photo is determined in the following manner:

Client selects one image from one gallery as their yearbook photo by clicking the small graduation cap icon beneath the thumbnail in their gallery
If no yearbook photo was selected, the highest rated favorite chosen by the client will be selected instead
If no favorite was selected, the gallery cover image will be selected

| Tip: Any 5-Star rated image exported from Lightroom will automatically become the Gallery image. Since we also use the Gallery image as the default yearbook selection for school events (in case the user does not choose one), this is a great way for you to choose yearbook images before uploading. Obviously, this means we are expected one 5-star image to be uploaded per gallery. If you happen to upload more than one, then the last uploaded one will become the Gallery image.
